Medicare and Supplemental Insurances

When companies advertise that "You may be eligible for a new Rascal Powerchair or Scooter at little or no out-of-pocket cost," they base that assumption on the following information:

You may qualify for up to 80% of the scooter or power chairs cost through Medicare if you meet these criteria:

You need assistance to move around inside your home to perform daily activities.
You are unable to operate a manual wheelchair but a wheelchair is medically necessary.*
Your doctor determines that you have a medical need and are capable of safely operating the controls of a powerchair or scooter.

If you have supplemental insurance, it may cover the remaining 20% of the cost if you meet their eligibility criteria. Rascal Insurance Services will determine if you pre-qualify, and, if you do, we'll process the paperwork for your claim, work with your physician to determine which vehicle is best for your specific need, and, when your claim is approved, we'll deliver a new Rascal power chair or scooter to your home and show you how to operate it.
